We had a bad experience with the shellfish here, but they responded with appropriate contrition. My fiancée and I came in for lunch, and we both ordered oysters -- the po' boy and the platter. When they arrived, they just weren't right. Pungently fishy smell, taste totally unidentifiable and totally unappetizing. To her credit, the waitress immediately removed the plates and charged us neither for the food nor my beer (they do have a well-curated beer list). I wish the manager would have taken the time to chat with us, but the waitress was professional and gracious. Possibly just a bad day or a bad batch of shellfish, but we wouldn't be likely to test our luck again.

Excellent meal....love the shrimp and grits! And the Ribeye was cooked to perfection.

I had a salad here that was pretty good and I also had the mussels which were just OK, it was late and we were looking for a place for a while so it did the trick.

Pretty good spot. Lobster roll is good no mayo and delicious butter topping but could use more lobster meat. Oysters were a great deal. The basil cocktail and dark and story were delicious. Would go back.

Food here is amazing. I had just the clam chowder and chicken tenders. Nothing special but tenders were juicy, and clearly homemade with a very different crunchy breading. Other people in my group had the 1 burger on the menu, the steak, the Caesar salad with shrimp, and the fish and chips. Everyone loved their meals. Before the meal, for appetizers we ordered calamari and mozzarella and peppers on some type of bread. The calamari was flavorful and tender but WARNING: quite spicy. We were never served the other appetizer which we reminded the waitress about and she apologized throughly (I think she forgot). Our waitress was very nice and helpful. They had other bussers cleaning they seemed new, dropping things, clearing filled wine glasses before we left. The outside tables could be improved to wood possibly rather than cheap plastic. I heard they got a new chef this year and have improved since their lacking one in past years. I would definitely try this place out.

This restaurant is a quick walk from the ferry and not as crowded as the closer places. There is no water view but the outside seating is good for people watching. The food is nothing special and I was disappointed to see that the menu was so light on seafood. I was hoping to get a lobster roll, which is written about on yelp, but it was not on the menu when I was there. The beer selection was adequate. The food was nothing special. If I had it to do over again, I try somewhere else.

We stopped at Channel Marker for our only meal on Block Island, and honestly It would definitely be a stop next time, too, although the only option for the veg was a salad or pumpkin soup -- they did agree to craft a grilled cheese for the picky eater in our trio as well. I had the oyster po boy and those oysters are da bomb! Crispy and really good, although spicy red peppers would have been better with that remoulade, and the bun could have been fresher. Their fries are amazing, and that cocktail list had me at hello. Great beer options, too! Just a nice space with cool photos on the walls. Wait staff was very attentive. We walked across the street to a lovely beach afterward. You don't have a lot of off-season choices, but you can't go wrong at Channel Marker!

Terrible service. We just went there and sat for 40 minutes with nobody helping our table. Totally ignored. Not worth your time.

We had lunch here today. We had the Grilled garlic Parmesan oysters, which were delicious! I can't wait to try making them at home! We also had the Toasted Blue crab ravioli. These were just good. The filling was tasty, but the outside was a little tough. Service was friendly & good.

Omg totally agree with Adam D. Brought my family there this weekend and my kids were obsessed with those chicken fingers! These definitely were not frozen with juicy meat on the inside, they have a great beer batter crust, and are perfectly seasoned. The side of cole slaw was crunchy and so addictive too. Great price and enjoyable environment with outdoor seating. My kids keep asking when we are going to go back next. I heard rumors that this place might be closing, it would be a travesty. Everyone should come and experience it this summer. You won't be disappointed. Burgers and lobsters roll were quality too for more mature palates. The raw bar also hits the spot with oyster and little necks Looking forward to bringing back the family soon!

THE CHICKEN FINGER PLATTER!!!!! They are the best fingers I've ever had. High quality white chicken meat and that HONEY MUSTARD SAUCE. So good. Would go back over and over again. Not just good for kids but can appreciate as an adult. One of the best dining experiences on the island!

First time here and so glad we gave it a try. It was a busy Monday on a gorgeous beach day and I was hesitant because many other popular restaurants had lines and the Channel Marker had just a few tables filled and we eat out so infrequently on our vacation that we tend to go back to our favorites. Well...we have another favorite! Only bummer was that they were waiting on a delivery of oysters, but we enjoyed the mussels for an appetizer. I had the lobster roll and it was delicious. My favorite style, hot buttered, no mayo. Roll was nice and fresh (my biggest pet peeve about lobster rolls is when they are served on a stale hot dog bun). My husband had the scallop po boy and my cousin had the fish and chips. Everyone raved about their meals.

We had a party of 12 adults for dinner. They were able to seat us quickly in a long table together. The food was very good and the staff and service outstanding. Greg the owner stopped by to share his interesting stories and his expansive knowledge of beer. They have a nice beer selection especially of craft beers. We would recommend this place to everyone visiting BI.

Had the ceviche on on a hot day and it was well received.Great fresh ingredients!Close to town and the beaches gives it the perfect location. Fun busy atmosphere inside and the service was top notch.Well run for a new establishment. Will definitely be back

We were lured into this restaurant because they had a chalk board outside advertising oysters $1 and little necks .50. Once we were hooked we sat at the bar and ordered a dozen oysters and cocktails. I also ordered their fish and chips which was local flounder. I passed on the roll and switched the chips with an awesome salad with their homemade blue cheese dressing. Yummy. Of all the restaurants we ate at over Memorial weekend. This place had the freshest food and the best Bloody Mary in town. Try this place. You will not be disappointed.

Tried this place on a Saturday night because we were in the area and looking for a reasonably priced meal. The restaurant was completely empty and the food was exceedingly average. A more diverse menu may attract new customers.

We ate at the Channel Marker twice over the weekend and everything we ordered was fantastic. We loved the grilled oysters, salmon salad and soft shell crabs. Great presentation. Warm rolls add a nice touch too. Tried the scallop po boy the following day for lunch. Sweet, sweet scallops with a delicate sauce on delicious fresh bread. Their clam chowder is the best I've ever had. Dessert was exceptional too - especially the strawberry shortcake. Looking forward to going back next time on BI.
